Hello to all CAC members and Friends!
I hope everyone is keeping warm and well in this Australian winter! With some beautiful days on the weekend and one freakishly warm week, I think it’s safe to say many of us are quite content with winter thus far.
Unfortunately though, there have been some tragic events in Canada in the past month, which includes the Calgary floods and the Quebec rail disaster. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by these disasters, and details on how to help can be found further down in the news letter.
As we had a very busy (but successful) end of June and beginning of July, many of us on the CAC have been resting and gearing up for August, as that seems to be Mixer and Movie month!
August begins with the club trying a new mixer venue, The Paragon Hotel at Circular Quay. We are hoping that this will be the new, permanent home for mixers. Please support us at this new venue, as we would love to see the mixer’s come alive again!
The CAC has also negotiated some discounted prices for the Possible Worlds Film Festival, and it would be great to see CAC member’s take advantage of these offers. It’s not too late to sign up, so please see our coming event’s page for more info!
In August we will be wrapping up sales for the Entertainment Book. Get in now to secure your book and support the club’s fundraising efforts.
Lastly, thank you to ALL past and present members who filled out our survey’s last month. The committee will be discussing all the results and suggestions at the next meeting, and we will be responding to the survey findings in tour e-newsletters.
Stay safe and warm everyone!
