Happy Winter Everyone!
So the first day of Australian winter has arrived…..can you believe we are almost half way through the year all ready?!?
Last month I asked the question, “I wonder what April snows [in Canada] bring for May?” and the answer is as follows:
Rain, sleet, snow, and hail…..all in one day!
This was an especially harsh welcome, as my husband and I stopped in Hawaii on the way over….. Epic fail springtime in Canada!!! Luckily a few days later, the sky’s cleared, the sun shone, and 25+ degrees returned. This allowed for a great day at Wonderland, a fun walk around the Tulip Festival, and some lovely patio beverages and Beavertails :)
But enough about my trip back, let’s see what the CAC has been up to……
In May, CAC members met at the Quay West for the monthly mixer, and the end of the month saw CAC members toasting the Sydney monorail through a fantastic pub crawl. A BIG thank you to member Brenda Patterson for making that event a success!!
June will be another busy month for the CAC, where we start with the monthly mixer at The Local Taphouse in Darlinghurst. Come on down to celebrate the start of the long weekend with some great beers from around the world. The end of June sees two big events, the ‘good ol hockey game’ at Allphones Arena, and of course…. CANADA DAY PARTY!!! Woo Hoo!
The Committee is preparing for the big day, and it would be great to see as many CAC members there as possible. Not only will the King St Brewhouse be serving up Canadian style foods, but also we will be revealing our new club logo and handing out some great Canadian goodies! This is sure to be a great day, so register ASAP!!
If you’re looking for even more Canadian related things to do this month, why not check out the Canadian flicks at the Sydney Film Festival? Or join our friends at the Quebec Oz Club for their annual Saint Jean Baptist Day party? For more information on these events, keep reading!
See you at Canada Day!
