Hello Members, it’s half-way through the year already and the Club is busy organising a number of events to keep you active during the winter months.

We are in the process of finalising a venue and all of the details for our annual Canada Day party.  Stay tuned as we will make a formal announcement soon.

Upcoming events:

How about a Bush Walk?  This coming weekend, if the rain ever stops, Katie our social events co-ordinator is hosting a walk on the North Shore from Bradleys Head to Chowder Bay Walk.  Its 5km one way, but we are happy to adjust the distance to suit the majority of those participating.  If anyone is interested, we can have lunch or coffee after as well.  Meet at the Taronga Zoo wharf on Sunday.

On Saturday June 14th, we are planning to go ice skating at the Canterbury area during the public skate time.  Does anyone have any hidden talents to show us?

If you are not a big fan of winter sports, during the afternoon on Sunday July 18th, we are booked to go 10 pin bowling at Manhattan Superbowl in Mascot.  Maybe we can organise ourselves in a little competition of East Coast vs. West Coast?  The bowling venue is attached to a pub, so for those interested, we can hang around for dinner and drinks.

Other Events:

All of you hockey fans are already enjoying play-offs with Calgary and Montreal still in the competition!  Hockey Night in Sydney has relocated to a fantastic new venue – the New Hampton - in Kings Cross.  You can catch up with the latest event details by liking the Facebook page of HNIS.

We have been cordially invited to attend a lecture by the by Dr Claire Boudreau FRHSC AIH, Chief Herald of Canada on ‘Canadianizing Heraldry’ on  May 25th.  If symbols, badges, flags, and other insignia interest you, sign up for this FREE event.  Details are on our website.

With a dozen people already registered to attend, on June 1st, we are pleased to be included in Trowbridge International’s presentation covering ‘all things’ income tax related for Canadian Expatriates. Don’t forget to email and indicate which session that you plan to attend.

Our next social mixer at the Paragon is Friday, August 7th.
